Minecraft 1.9 Resource-Light Witch Farm Nathan Ryan 2015-10-11 | The new witch-farm design by xisumavoid is a solid replacement for the popular shifting-floor design, which relies on a bug that has already been patched for the upcoming 1.9 release. Item Elevator Double Extender (Snapshot 15w39c) Nathan Ryan 2015-09-25 | This item elevator requires few resources and can losslessly process extremely heavy item volumes. It uses a different mechanism to place items into the glass tower. Specifically, items enter the glass tower from the side, rather than from the center, and a clock-driven double-extender pushes the items into a cobblestone wall, thus driving them up the tower. Item Elevator Regulators Nathan Ryan 2015-09-25 | This video discusses some alternatives for using regulators to batch the item stream of an item elevator. Recorded using Minecraft snapshot 15w39c.Since the bug fixes for 1.9 have broken the item-elevator design by test137e29, several additional designs have emerged. Going back to the future, the most reliable is probably the piston launcher. However, this design requires a large space above the collection point at the top of the elevator, due to the velocity that items build while rising through the glass tower.One alternative to the piston launcher is what I erroneously call the "pneumatic-tube" design. Items enter the block space of a block with a switchable collision box, and the block space is sealed by using a piston to push a block into the entrance port. However, for these designs to be lossless, the input stream must be batched.
