A lawsuit filed by Rensselaer County Sheriff Kyle Bourgault and other sheriff’s across New York, are challenging a new state law that limits when local police can work with federal immigration agents.

The lawsuit was filed Wednesday and says undocumented immigrants have been arrested in crimes across New York, including a homicide, sexual assault and human trafficking case.
