A short compilation of a few 4K clips from the Sony FS700. I've uploaded this in 4K so you should be able to select "original size" to watch in 4K. Looks great on a Retina MacBook!
Graded in Resolve. The dynamic range when shooting 4K raw is amazing. Some of the shots of the boats on the river have a range in excess of 12 stops. Nothing in the original material is over exposed, but to prevent the footage from looking flat after grading you have to let some of the brightest highlights blow out a little otherwise it just doesn't look right. After all on a bright sunny day our own vision would struggle with brilliant white boats against a dark deeply shady background. The great thing about linear raw is that you really can pull amazing detail out of the deepest shadows while retaining clouds in the sky.
