This Catholic friar just finished saying people need to feel their feelings and that emotions are part of the human experience, then turns around and presents it as if atheists don't view the world that way. That's a textbook strawman argument. Atheists actually place heavy emphasis on how people experience the world. We place paramount importance on human experience and social consciousness, recognizing that our personal experiences don't dictate what others experience. That's what social awareness is about: recognizing that people experience things differently and respecting those differences. The real issue is that the Christian argument seems to demand that everyone feel exactly the same way as other Christian do in particular situations. That's simply not how people work. Whether he's built this entire argument on a strawman or genuinely doesn't understand the atheist position, the result is the same: he's completely misrepresenting what atheists believe about feelings, experience, and human consciousness. Atheists don't reject emotions—we reject conformity of experience.
