Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together.
French is a Romance language that evolved from the Vulgar Latin spoken in the Roman Empire, specifically from Gallo-Romance in Northern Gaul. It is closely related to other langues d'oïl spoken in northern France and southern Belgium. French has become an official language in 27 countries and is widely spoken across about 50 countries and territories.
Saint Lucian Creole, or Kwéyòl, is a French-based creole language widely spoken in Saint Lucia alongside English, the official language. It blends African syntax with Latin-based French vocabulary, along with influences from English, African, and Carib languages. Though not official, Kwéyòl is commonly used by the government and media across the island.
This video is created for educational, language awareness, and language preservation purposes. It aims to provide valuable insights and knowledge to viewers, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of different languages and their unique characteristics. By raising awareness about linguistic diversity, the video seeks to foster a greater respect and recognition for various languages, particularly those that are endangered or underrepresented. Additionally, it contributes to the preservation of languages by documenting and sharing linguistic knowledge, thus ensuring that these languages and their cultural heritage are not lost to future generations.
