How Franklin's Bell works, both Benjamin Franklin's original setup for detecting lightning storms and a simple homemade one using soda cans. For Franklin's original, the use of a lightning rod and ground connection is shown. For a simple homemade one and Wimshurst machine is used to power the bells, though a Van de Graaff machine and electrophorus are also shown briefly.
