Been grinding this fight for a while and I am very pleased to get this time! This time also ties Doginator's outstanding 41.98 which he set many months prior. This run is also 1 frame off the TAS (0:41.92). The Phase 2 left hook that makes Great Tiger's next attack come out slightly faster is where I lost it. I actually had 3 runs that were better than this (TAS pace) but they all died to the final couple of inputs of the fight. Oh well.
As for the fight itself, I wasn't really that amused considering my timings for this fight always range from either "Really good" or just straight-up bad. Luckily for this session, I was able to get it! TAS for this fight is 41.92 which will either fall between me or Doge. (Or Andy most likely since he's been grinding a lot)
Speaking of Doge, I would like to give him a shoutout for the ending buffer in P3 which counters both sides of the magic rush! I did screw it up tho but was still able to hit the attack frame 1 lmao.

Before this, I got seven 42.04's and ALOT of 42.10's and 42.16's. I have a hunch if I ever grind for TAS I'm bound to get 41.98 again but idk will see. I didn't keep track of my 2:35 Phase 1's because at this point I've been grinding this fight for a stupidly long time to the point where I lost track of them. If I had to estimate I think I am at 100+ by now

Second time getting this one because I didnt record the first attempt. Whoops. Wasnt too bad anyway, got super lucky with Phase 2, and with no guard manipulation at the start, the counter was the only worry.
Also yeah I was in a Voice call in Discord when this happened which is why you hear other people in the background haha.

This was an IL that I held off because it just wasnt fun to grind. I say out of all the PAL fights, this one is definitely the hardest execution-wise. Got a total of 95 frame perfect Phase 1s and 23 frame perfect phase 2s before finally getting Phase 3 correctly. I could not for the life of me figure this one out, especially both Phase 2 and Phase 3 back to back. Looking back, I shouldve done this before Macho/Bull/Sandman because those fights were easier for me then Hoy.
Also by the time you see this video, I actually just achieved 33/33 SPO IL WRs so Ill be uploading the rest soon!

So Akiteru has been doing some strategy research on Mad Clown for NTSC since he was doing 9.01 attempts and wanted to see if he could find something faster. One of his ideas was the strategy you see in the video only it started with 2 left jabs instead. When starting with 2 left jabs, Clown would unfortunately still have 1hp when you use the P2 you see in the video. Later on he tried using an RJ at the start since right jabs take away a tiny bit more health compared to the left. In theory, this would work but the problem is that he wouldnt go dizzy by the end. I thought that wouldnt happen because the RJ is the starting punch and is not being thrown anywhere else in the phase to waste time (Right jabs are slower than left jabs) until Akiteru mentioned it might just be Clowns animation instead making him not go dizzy.
Seemed like a fail... only Akiteru tried this on PAL instead of NTSC and... it not only dizzies Clown on the PAL version, but it saved 0.13s.
Say yay! Another new strategy was discovered and coincidentally it has the same odds as the NTSC 9.01 strategy. The only difference is that its 5 frame perfect inputs instead of 7. (It can technically be 4 but I decided not to buffer punch #5 to reduce rng).
Took a while but I finally got it, and on my birthday of all days! Turned 22 this year and this was a nice gift to have!")
