So Akiteru has been doing some strategy research on Mad Clown for NTSC since he was doing 9.01 attempts and wanted to see if he could find something faster. One of his ideas was the strategy you see in the video only it started with 2 left jabs instead. When starting with 2 left jabs, Clown would unfortunately still have 1hp when you use the P2 you see in the video. Later on he tried using an RJ at the start since right jabs take away a tiny bit more health compared to the left. In theory, this would work but the problem is that he wouldnt go dizzy by the end. I thought that wouldnt happen because the RJ is the starting punch and is not being thrown anywhere else in the phase to waste time (Right jabs are slower than left jabs) until Akiteru mentioned it might just be Clowns animation instead making him not go dizzy.
Seemed like a fail... only Akiteru tried this on PAL instead of NTSC and... it not only dizzies Clown on the PAL version, but it saved 0.13s.
Say yay! Another new strategy was discovered and coincidentally it has the same odds as the NTSC 9.01 strategy. The only difference is that its 5 frame perfect inputs instead of 7. (It can technically be 4 but I decided not to buffer punch #5 to reduce rng).
Took a while but I finally got it, and on my birthday of all days! Turned 22 this year and this was a nice gift to have!")

UPDATE: I did improve this time to 1:07.58 but the capture card failed at the beginning set of punches. This has for sure put the WR for this guy in a very awkward position. 3 months later I got it again with no buggy footage this time: https://youtu.be/allLJDnyjio
Deja Vu huh? Got 1 frame off for this strat now lol. My goal was 1:07.6X, the job is done but... Im now starting to think that TAS might just be possible (1:07.58). The frame loss in this run would probably have to be the final dodge in Phase 3, or maybe it might be a combo of stun punches that added up to 0.06 exactly w/out me realizing idk.
Plus he didnt release the bogus yet in this run or my last run :(
The next IL to push would probably be Title Defense Bald Bull since I would love to get a time of 42.6X, although there is a chance that I might still stick with this and if I know I cant get TAS then I will move on. But Im going to keep trying...")

The 1:08.6X barrier on Macho is finally here! And to be honest I didnt think it would be here this early since my goal was just to get something like 1:08.72 considering this fight has 27 total frame perfect inputs which is the most of not just the TD fights but in the entire game!
It really was a pain to improve this IL since the worst inputs for me were the dodge after getting knocked down and the final taunt, both of which were at the end making it heartbreaking to lose good runs to it.
TAS for this fight is 1:08.60 and I have no idea where I lost the frame nor do I care because of how satisfied I am with this time.
I honestly dont know what to do next, improving TD Sandman would be a daredevil move, TD Soda I am trying to hold off for as long as I can so I can clear my head on the fight. So I guess the final 2 contender fights and TD Bull would be good options but they arent much better in all honesty haha.
