Life can be quite challenging in the 2020's with outcomes not resulting in the ideal way. A part of that includes rough starts, failed relationships & wrong turns. However, what makes the journey so captivating is man's relentless stamina to persevere. This mantra ALSO holds true for young bands diligently working to succeed & immortalize their respective art & music. AND, while many band's may falter in that ambition, there are still a handful that not only triumph, but formulate their own identity; such is the enduring story of San Antonio's Foreword! Formed in the 2010's as a fledgling group of budding metallers, Foreword braved lineup changes, misguided direction & a tumultuous road to only find themselves (in the HERE & NOW) as an enthusiastic band of brothers with the BEST release thus far this year. The band's debut FULL-length, 'Anthologies' dropped on January 31st, 2025 & is an exuberant blend of ambient metalcore, which the band can undeniably call their own. Skillfully produced my MASTERMIND, Chis Mora, 'Anthologies' delivers a wide array of brutality to include the roaring (& savage) vocals of Andy Alderson coupled with the majesty (& melody) of guitarist, Chris Se Cret's backups; add in an arrangement of blended guitars, HUGE choruses & an array of non-stop sonic landscape & 'Anthologies' delivers a listening experience that will keep any deserving metalhead both attentive & yearning for more. Thus, I quickly determined that this release needed my attention & support, SO on March 29th, 2025 I invited both Andy & Chris to the RMW Studio to discuss it ALL. In the interview below you will see us discuss the following: the band's evolution, the writing (& recording) process, internal debates, signing with Seek and Strike, their marketing strategy, the joys of making videos, live shows & what lies ahead for the year.
