A lot of times I wait until the end to add sounds and by then I have no space and go with simple beeps and boops. I actually like those style of sounds but I am trying to make more dynamic sounds that are inline with those classic Atari sounds.
In this video I added sound for the acceleration and deceleration. I got a nice little engine rumble by switching channels every other frame with a third frame playing a tone that coincides with moving the player speeder back and forth.
I also started to program the speeder collisions and explosions. Right now it will only explode when hitting the first player0 sprite (bottom tree line). I haven't programmed the other trees yet. The hit box is essentially the bottom of the tree to a few pixels above.
