Description: How I changed my battery in my 2001 Ford F350 7.3L Lariat Crew Cab 4x4.
Battery I used: Motorcraft BXT-65 850 amps.
Tools I used & Recommended:
- ½” or 13mm combination Wrench.
- 12mm Combination Wrench if the others don’t fit.
- Battery Terminal Cleaner.- 8mm 3/8” Drive Socket.
- 9” 3/8” Drive Extension.
- 3/8” Drive Stubby Ratchet.
- Blade Screwdriver, large to help spread terminals if needed.
- Multimeter, to measure voltages to ensure Alternator is working.
- Battery Charger, if the batteries are low.Consumables Recommended:
- Paper Towels.
- Bottle of water or use a Garden hose to rinse off soda if used to clean corrosion off terminals.
Chemical Recommended:
- CRC Battery Terminal Protectant.
- Permatex Anti-Seize Lubricant PN: 81343.
- Soda Pop. For corrosion removal on battery terminals if needed.
