Iain Petrie | For dedicated Flash Gordon fans only! 'Thought lost. "The Weapon that Walked". Very low quality. @IKP1000 | Uploaded September 2022 | Updated October 2024, 13 hours ago.
'The GBI crew faces a woman who can turn humans to stone with a single look".
This is the only know copy of Episode 15, "The Weapon that Walked" from the 1954 TV series of Flash Gordon, kindly made available by George Fergus.
It has been copied many times, and is of such low quality that it is difficult to watch, although the audio is reasonably clear with a little effort in parts. Putting it through the AI software Topaz Video Lab removed some of the artifacts (though added others, as you will see...) but there really wasn't much of an improvement. I used the PowerDirector 365 Highlight Healing tool to address the blown out highlights in the faces, which allowed Deoldify AI to colourise it. Again this doesn't add a lot, but in my opinion makes it more watchable. It's quite an interesting episode actually, but strictly for very keen aficionados of the '54 series, who will be very happy to have access to an episode previously thought lost.
