Prospect is a moving new film by artist and filmmaker Sarah Wood, crafted from never-before-seen footage of Derek Jarman’s Prospect Cottage and the surrounding Dungeness landscape. Shot in the late 1980s and originally intended for The Garden (1990), this archival material captures Jarman’s tender way of seeing – rooted in care, resistance and radical beauty. Part poetic essay, part visual meditation, Prospect reflects on Jarman’s legacy and what it means to live with purpose in uncertain times. Through layered imagery and quiet resonance, Sarah Wood invites us to imagine a more compassionate, attentive future.
