Love (Warbler Remix) by Hanna Tuulikki is a vocal sound work inspired by the Marsh Warbler, a bird that mimics songs it hears along its migration. Known for her interdisciplinary practice, Tuulikki creates a hybrid creature – the Love Warbler – that reimagines folk love songs using birdsong structure. Drawing on vocal traditions from the bird’s migratory route, and recorded among the sound mirrors at Dungeness, the piece explores connection, kinship, and the rhythms of migration. Tuulikki invites us to listen more closely to the world around us. Commissioned for Folkestone Triennial 2025: How Lies the Land?.
