Flying Between The Clouds! Give Hope Wings 2025 Part 1
Join us for Day 1 of the Give Hope Wings 2025 Expedition! In this video, we take off from Oshawa, Ontario, on a VFR flight to Gore Bay amid tough early summer weather conditions, including a stalled front, IFR ceilings, and convective activity. This cross-country charitable aviation journey supports Hope Air, helping provide flights for patients in need of medical care across Canada.
Pilots Glen Powell and Dave navigate through layered cloud, rain, and turbulence, discussing flight plans, weather briefings, IFR training, and the importance of volunteer flying. Along the way, you'll experience the camaraderie of formation flying, real-time weather coordination with other Give Hope Wings teams, and the rewarding emotions behind flying medical transport missions.
Despite challenging skies, we land safely at Gore Bay — but not all aircraft are so lucky. Some pilots are weathered in and may catch up later in Sault Ste. Marie. Watch as we touch down, debrief, and prepare for the next leg westward toward Winnipeg.
