What happens when a puppy decides it’s done being domesticated?
FLUFF & FURIOUS is a 2D animated short film directed by Joey Liao about a curious puppy who watches a wolf documentary and becomes determined to reconnect with its wild side, throwing the household into chaos along the way.
Playful, funny, and rooted in classic hand-drawn animation, the film uses the puppy’s unlikely transformation to explore the desire to break free from expectations and become the version of ourselves we imagine we’re supposed to be.
Joey developed FLUFF & FURIOUS as a thesis film, handling the story, storyboards, character design, backgrounds, visual development, animation, and coloring. Inspired in part by the freedom and visual storytelling of classic animated shorts, the film combines expressive character animation with a compact comedic story.
