FLAT INSPECTION is a dark comedy animated short film directed by Lizzie Watts.

When landlord Jill arrives for a surprise flat inspection, she discovers something unexpected, Benji, a dog, clearly subletting the living room. As Jill gleefully threatens eviction, Benji scrambles to justify his stay, insisting he’s a therapy dog.

What follows is a surreal and sharply funny look at power, control, and the absurdity of modern housing.

Blending 3D with 2D animation, the film reflects Lizzie Watts’ signature style, where the mundane slips into the uncanny, and humor becomes a lens to explore real-world systems and dynamics.
