This game has the combination of me knowing that I should increase the difficulty but also not wanting to have to replay any of the fights because ultimately they're not all that interesting.
That side quest at the start felt more like a cameo from a dev's previous game than part of the game itself. Oh, actually, I bet this had a kickstarter and it was a reward.

I really need to get better at not getting hit, what with all the points it tosses at you. Im sure Ill do much better now that I realized that I can run with the gun out and quickturn with it.

Tired of Metroidvanias wasting my time with two filler phases before the one that actually is challenging at all, especially when its not clear how to actually damage the final phase.")

This really has just devolved into me zooming through levels, which I dont hate, but its also not particularly compelling gameplay. Turning down the survival/base mechanics as low as possible probably messed with the balance.")

As I go through these maps, Ive started to realize that I no longer think consciously about them at all. My brain goes on autopilot (which sometimes isnt helpful when it comes to remembering doors), but it sure does make the fights easy.")

This is not a game that does good boss fights.
Interesting gameplay. I think the fixed camera angles often hurt it, since its so common to just get bodied from offscreen. Its certainly something that I think a skilled player could avoid, but I am not one of those.
I didnt dislike the combo system, which I thought I would, since this is such an arcade game on its face that its not really trying to be horror at all.
The difficulty was all over the place, with it only being tight on resources near the start of the game. I dont think I ever died, although I came close a few times.
The plot was weirdly sparse until it did a lore dump and I think ended on a cliffhanger that was also a time paradox? Admittedly I wasnt paying all that much attention.
Anyway, it was fine.")

Wasnt a big fan of this one. I havent read the book or seen the movie (I know, heresy), so thats partly on me, but the mission objectives and encounters all just felt the same, even if most of the weapons felt good to use.")
