A small flock of Asian Pied Starlings had congregated at the edge of a grassy field. They were calling raucously while perching at rest.
This species is common in Thailand, but of course, to me, coming from Singapore, they are pretty special.
Aka Pied Mynas, Asian Pied Starlings are found in South and Southeast Asia.
There are 5 subspecies, varying slightly in plumage, extent of streaking and size.
This species has adapted well to urban living and are often seen in cities and villages. As shown in this video, they were not the least bothered by the passing traffic adjacent to the field.
