1st time cooking Flat Iron steaks and will not be the last time! These were excellent! I would put them in-between a Filet and a NY Strip. Just some SPG for the win!
• Cooked 2 nice Flat Iron Steaks from Pat LaFrieda.
• Seasoned with SPG 24 hours in advance.
• Set the grill up for indirect cooking just to start warming the thicker steak.
• Inserted the probe on the thicker steak.
• Put the thicker steak on and once it started to move in temp we went to the searing stage.
• Let the grill get super hot!
• Seared until they reached our desired temps and pulled to let the carry over finish them off.
• Let them rest and enjoyed a great dinner!
Summary: Pat LaFrieda never frozen steaks are the next level. The Flat Iron surprised me on how good and tender it was. Plus the price is very friendly compared to filet or NY Strip. We have ordered these steaks multiple times since we did this cook for our own use. We have no affiliation with either company, so just our opinion!
