Decided this afternoon would be a good time to try and fix my new Toro Super Pro Recycler II lawn mower which has a 5.5 hp Briggs & Stratton Quantum engine.

Brushed the dust off the recoil assembly and picked some spider webs out of the flywheel. I then proceeded to take the bowl and jets off the carburetor assuming they were clogged but after messing around for a while, I noticed the actual problem turned out to be that the throttle cable was not adjusted right so the choke mechanism was not engaging. Fixed that and got it to start by itself without spraying fuel into the carburetor.

I still had to adjust the throttle linkage a little after this video as I tightened it too much and it was staying on choke regardless of the throttle position but it runs great now.
