The city of Brea is currently in the process of replacing all 4200 street lights throughout the city.
The old High Pressure Sodium fixtures, which produce an orange colored light, were changed out with new Induction-powered fluorescent fixtures which produces a bright white light using less energy. The fixtures chosen by the city are the "Jersey Series" street light made by Irvine based US Lighting Tech. They each sport a 150 watt Sylvania Icetron induction-fluorescent lamp
