MechaPaint is a new tool for painting and texturing 3D models. In this quick demo we take an old model with a genuinely terrible UV map and clean it up in a couple of clicks.

MechaPaint can paint on pretty much any model that has UVs, no matter how messy the layout is. Dropping a logo onto the surface takes seconds. But when you look at the UV map, that single logo has been sliced apart and scattered across the sheet, wasting texture space.

That's what Rebuild UVs is for. Found under Mesh Tools, it remaps your UV coordinates while keeping your existing textures intact, then reprojects that texture onto the new layout. The result is a model that looks identical in the viewport but has a far more efficient UV map. Parts that used to be chopped into scattered islands come back together as single pieces, and the logo lands in one piece.

If you've ever inherited a model with a UV map you didn't make, or unwrapped something years ago and don't want to redo the texture work, this is the fix.
