Nothing special to show with this video. Just my first ever experience with a little Legends Car I rented for 5 laps at Castelletto di Branduzzo circuit, in Italy. Really a careful and granny-style driving due to both a lot of insecurity on my side and how the car was loosing grip due to the quite low temperatures (5-6° C). In adddition to the slow driving, I should have dare more on the brakes, to be honest, but a part from that it has been a marvellous experience.
The Legends Cars are powered by a motorcycle engine (Yamaha 1300cc in this case) with a 5-speed sequential gearbox and a max power between 130 and 150hp at 10,500 rpm. Due to my first test, the one I tried has been depowered a bit so I'm expecting it had less than 100hp. But still with a weight around 500kg, short wheelbase and welded differential they're a hell of fun to be driven! I must admit I loved so much doing those quite useless "heel and toe" downshifts, sounds almost like a DFV engine from the inside hahah
Unfortunately I wasn't revving higher than 7000-7500 rpm just because the engine didn't have power and torque over that (due to the restricted engine of course).
Other two things I didn't enjoyed so much are that being almost 2 meters tall I was really stuck inside the cockpit (especially my legs touched the steering wheel) and the fact the steering wheel wasn't perfectly centered (I know, I should have stopped after the first 10 meters and should have fixed it right away) which was probabily the worst feeling I've ever had driving a car! It strange to describe but you struggle to set the correct corner trajectory and it's a lot harder to control the car oversteering.
I really hope to try a full unrestricted one in the future, even because I want to hear that Yamaha engine screaming up to 10,000 rpm!!

Since Im in love with how the turbo anti-lag sounds like in Dirt Rally 2.0, but not really happy of how barely you hear it using the on board view, I did a little experiment. I took the Lancer Evo X N4, famous to continuously popping and backfiring and went sightseeing in one of Polands special stages just to hear the ALS. Where is the experiment? Well, while editing the video I merged the on board sound with what you hear when you use the chase camera (louder and deeper explosions from the exhaust).
I consider it some kind of hybrid sound mod for the cockpit view XD
N.B. You can only appreciate it when Im using the on board view in this video!

Heres the binaural version of the video I uploaded a couple of days ago about a cool exhibition of the Swiss Hornet Display Teams F/A-18 Hornet on the shores of Lake Maggiore, near the city of Locarno, in Switzerland, for the 2023 Luci e Ombre festival. Captain Yannick ‘Fönsi’ Zanata was inside the cockpit of the American fighter jet.
Over the years Ive tried severalI configurations and equipment for these recordings to the point of deciding to only use static scenes (with the gear mounted on a tripod or directly in my hands) in order to
better highlight the 3D/surround effect of this unique stereo recording.

What the hell is a 3D/Binaural recording?
Binaural recordings are reproductions of sound the way human ears hear it. Traditionally, recordings have been made using mono or stereo. Mono uses a single microphone while stereo uses two, spaced apart from each
other. Binaural recording takes the stereo method one step further by placing two microphones approximately
at the same average distance that exists between one and the other human ear. To recreate the best effect
you must put the microphones in your ears or by using a dummy head (wherein a mannequin head is outfitted
with a microphone in each ear) because having a real head or a head shape that separates the two
microphones is what makes the magic works. In fact if a car passes on your left side the sound will take a
few extra microseconds to reach the right ear and it will also be louder in one ear (left) than the other.
This is caused by the fact we have a thick skull and spongy brain between the two ears and sound waves
interact with the physical constitution of the listener and the surrounding space. Instead of following the
cars like Im used to do with my standard, stereo videos, keeping the microphone static (and so the
camera) the surround and depth effect typical of the binaural recordings is enanched.

In the first part of the video I tried to introduce you the livery and briefly tell the story of the Tassoni company. From 1:26 theres the actual gameplay with the cockpit view (if you want to see that from the chase view, skip at 4:59). Really didnt expect to fully climb the global leaderboard of this special stage in wet conditions for the Group A class.. But its definitely improvable by a couple of seconds with a better setup, a longer final gear and without the mistakes I did. Enjoy!
