In this webinar, we will show how traditional methods of field and helicopter surveys for reclamation assessment can be replaced by very advanced remote sensing and AI techniques. The developed model reduces cost, field visits, and safety risks compared to commonly-used methods for reclamation success assessment.
In summary, our model enables remote assessment of reclamation sites for compliance to reclamation regulatory requirements by combining the following products: (1) land cover types, (2) tree/stem numbers and heights, (3) low/no vegetation (e.g., bare soil and woody debris), (4) dead or stressed vegetation, (5) species diversity, and (6) and topographic landscape condition.
During this webinar, we will discuss the details of our model and how we successfully delivered this project to our clients and we received the first reclamation certificate ever issued by regulatory organizations using advanced remote sensing techniques.
This project should be of interest to environmental scientists, AI and data scientists, GIS specialists, and geomatics and field surveyors.
