Starting with just a dozen sheep, she struck a deal with Capital Power to manage the vegetation on their Strathmore Solar Farm. Since then, Janna has transformed into a vegetation management expert, turning the land into a thriving oasis and boosting her flock to over 1,000 sheep at this one location! Rather than consuming farmland, solar power has the potential to enhance productivity and skyrocket revenues for farmers like Janna and Ryan. They refer to this innovative approach as agrivoltaics—an exciting fusion of solar energy and farming, whether it’s sheep or crops!
