I think the new cam is worth it because of the audio quality and the touch screen. The anti-shake is also slightly better. But otherwise they're the same, more or less. And if you're the kind of person who uses the camera in its waterproof case all the time, you will probably be OK with saving some money on the 8S. For everyone else, the 8SE is the way to go.
