Zeke sat down with Cal Fire Battalion Chief, Jake Hannan, to talk about Cal Fire's Wellness programs, and Jake's personal journey, from firefighter, crew captain, and field Batallion Chief/Initial Attack IC, to working as a Wellness and Safety Battalion Chief at Cal Fire's Training Center/Academy, in Ione, California.
The conversation talks openly about PTSD in first responders, therapy, and Cal Fire's holistic approach to wellness - which includes training new firefighters on nutrition, physical fitness, mindfulness, stress management, and mental health awareness.
Thanks to Chief Jake Hannan, and Cal Fire’s Communications Office and Behavioral Health and Wellness Program (BHWP) for this interview.
