Pasadena firefighters responded around 2 a.m. on July 30, 2026, to a fully involved house fire in the 2800 block of Camile Street. Neighbors told reporters that no one appeared to be transported from the scene by ambulance after the flames were extinguished, but expressed concern for an elderly man with Alzheimer's disease who reportedly lived at the home and may have been inside when the fire broke out. According to a neighbor, police indicated the resident was still believed to be in the house. Fire marshals later arrived and cordoned off the property as a crime scene. When asked whether the incident involved a fatality, a safety chief declined to provide that information, saying it could not be released at that time.
