...The Siam lillies (Curcuma alismatifolia) are in bloom at the moment so I thought I'd demonstrate how the fibres from the stalk can be extracted.

...In this instance I used my firestone pendant to scrape out the fibres on the inside of a piece of bamboo but you could use the back of a knife, a spoon or even the edge of a piece of bamboo.

...I also thought I'd show you another alternative to flat boards so I used a flat stone against the rock face & I used some dust scraped off a piece of laterite stone ad an alternative accelerant. This contains iron oxide & acts the same as rust.
