On the final day of February 2021, I walked east from my doorstep; in a different direction to where I'd usually head for a Doorstep Walk. Creeping in to West Hewish, I set off to explore a series of footpaths (public rights of way) that were severed back in the 1970s, when the M5 motorway cleaved its way down through North Somerset.
Aside from that, there's a brief but gentle walk alongside Oldbridge River. Whenever you encounter blocked paths, whether these are locked gates, overgrown hedges or assertive landowners; take photos and reported it to the relevant council through their website. It's the least we could do.
