Abstract
While engineers may not often focus on financial considerations, the fact is that everything costs money - rack space, people, equipment, transit, initial setup for peering, and so on. You could say all engineering decisions are financial, so come along on this journey with a fellow engineer who had to dive into the world of financial analysis, and maybe something along the way can get you started with estimating risk or making better-informed decisions on spending.
