Day 19
I jumped into the pyramid after Ganon. He was uglier up close. He didn't waste any time mocking me like Agahnim. Ganon's magic was different from the other monsters I had faced. He vanished when I rushed toward him with the Master Sword. Then he appeared behind me and I narrowly dodged his trident.
I tried to swing again but he vanished, this time leaving behind a trail of fire. I got out of the way, but this time I wasn't so lucky. The trident went right through my shoulder. It hurt, but I was able to slash Ganon across the chest. That wasn't enough to kill him though. He only summoned darkness and kept trying to hit me with fire.
The fire rod saved my life. I was able to light up the room again. With Ganon blinded by the light, I took the opportunity to finish him with a silver arrow. Ganon was completely destroyed. The pain in my shoulder returned tenfold and my vision began to blur. I thought the staircase in front of me was an illusion at first, but I didn't have anywhere else to go. As I began to climb the staircase, my pain began to disappear.
At the top of the staircase was an altar. The Triforce appeared and it spoke to me. It said that Ganon's wish was to conquer the world and he would have if he managed to escape the Dark World. The Triforce can't tell the difference between good and evil, all it can do is grant the wishes of the heart. The Triforce came together. All I had to do was touch it with a wish in my heart.
I only had one wish. I wished for peace to return to Hyrule and for all those who were cursed or killed by Ganon and Agahnim to be restored. A bright light flashed around me and I was back at Hyrule Castle. Zelda and the other maidens were around me, now free from their crystals.
Zelda was so happy that I succeeded. She was even happier to see her father, the king, approaching her from the throne room. A messenger came and said that all the plagues in the land had vanished and many were recovering. I didn't stay at Hyrule Castle for long. There was one thing I had to check.
I ran home...and Zanji was there...he was alive! The king put together a celebration after Zelda and the maidens told him what had happened. It was a merry time. And yet...Zelda noticed I wasn't as happy as I should be. I explained to her that while I am happy that Zanji and the king have returned and that peace has come to Hyrule...I fear I might grow restless of this peace.
Zelda told me that what I do next is my decision, but she would love it if I stayed. I'll stay for her until I am called away again.
Tonight, she came with me to put the Master Sword back in its pedestal. With Ganon destroyed, it shouldn't be needed again.
