Day 35
It's done.
We found Bowser in the same hallway where I lost to him. That window was still broken. Peach was there too...watching helplessly. This time was different. This time I wouldn't lose!
The Star Spirits helped prevent Bowser from turning invincible. He was surprised that it happened, but the shock didn't last long. Something was wrong. Even after I smacked him real good, he was still standing. Bowser grabbed Peach and flew in his clown car to the balcony.
We quickly followed after him. Attached to the balcony was an arena. Bowser had prepared for this. Kammy Koopa put a spell on the arena to make Bowser even stronger. I was confident in the power of the Star Spirits...but even he had become more powerful than them. We were going to lose. I didn't want her to see me lose again, but I didn't stop fighting. None of us did.
Then a miracle happened. Twink had taken down Kammy Koopa with help from Peach's wishes. Peach wished for the Star Spirits to become more powerful. Twink added his own power. The Star Beam was now more powerful than it had been before. That was enough to lower Bowser's defenses, but he was still fighting to the end. I didn't stop either. Even when I felt like I was at the end of my strength and my friends were at the end of theirs, I still fought. One last hammer whack to the face was enough to bring him down for good.
I grabbed the Star Rod. Peach ran into my arms. She was safe now. The arena and Bowser's castle exploded due to Kammy's spell malfunctioning, but the Star Spirits and Twink saved us and Peach's castle.
I gave the Star Rod to Eldstar. The Star Spirits intend to use it to bring peace back to the land. They then left for Star Haven. Twink said a heartfelt goodbye and left for Star Haven as well. What a brave little guy.
The castle landed gently. Back where it was. We helped everyone clean up the place. Then my friends had to head home. I'm proud of them all. I eventually went home as well.
This morning, Parakarry dropped off a letter from the castle. Peach was throwing a party to celebrate the return of the Star Rod. Luigi and I went over there. All of my traveling companions were at the party as well. It was good to see them all again.
The party lasted well into the night. At first, I expected to see the firework show from the castle balcony, but Peach insisted we watch it from my home. It was lovely...just the two of us. I hope one day...this feeling will last forever.
