Mario's Journal:
Day 27
It's over.
Bowletta did not fight fairly. Even when we thought we took her down, we got hit hard with an explosion. The last thing I remembered seeing then was one of those bombs that a few of the koopalings had.
We were able to get back up and fight, but we were elsewhere and some Cackletta-looking ghost stood before us. That had to be her soul. It was the only logical explanation.
At first, the soul didn't appear to have any weaknesses until we had destroyed both its limbs and the head. That was when the heart appeared. We threw everything we had at it despite our weakened condition. Cackletta had been completely destroyed and we were spat back out into the throne room.
Cackletta's spirit left Bowser completely. Bowser was surprisingly still alive after all that. We didn't bother waking him, especially not after Peasley rushed in and let us know that the castle is rigged to explode soon! We escaped and went straight to Little Fungitown.
Peach was there waiting for us. She was relieved to see us alive. She insisted we rest for a while and when we're ready, we can finally head home.
It was nice staying in the Beanbean Kingdom and not having to worry about monsters everywhere. I even took some time to walk around Stardust Fields with Peach. It really is a beautiful place.
Then came the time for us to finally go home. It seems Toadsworth and Lady Lima have been spending some quality time together during the trip. Peasley and Queen Bean were there to see us off and the plane took off without issue. They did give us a parting gift. Luigi noticed right away that it was Bowser. I'm not surprised he survived the explosion. We dropped him off when we flew over the Koopa Kingdom.
We're about to land now. The Mushroom Kingdom looks beautiful tonight.
