Brahminy Kite parent was giving flight demonstration around nest tree while the last chick watched on.
Finally, the much awaited moment arrived - Junior launched into a beautiful take-off and away he flew!
The fledglings were perched on different trees scattered around the nest tree.
It was heart warming to observe how protective their parents were, chasing away crows when the latter harassed one of their fledglings. And then rounding off a grey-headed fish-eagle who flew too close for comfort.
In the afternoon, two of the fledglings flew back to the nest to chill. It was awesome to be able to admire them flying freely.
This concludes my observation of this Brahminy Kite nesting. I enjoyed these visits tremendously and am grateful for this priceless opportunity to learn from this lovely Brahminy Kite Family.
Nicknamed Singapore's Bald Eagle, the Brahminy Kite is a medium sized raptor of about 45-50cm.
Brahminy Kites are common residents of Singapore.
