Speak with Rikku who tells you to head to Luca, where Blitzballers gather and she also gives you advice not to mention coming from Zanarkand due to it now being a holy place.
Sin attacks and Tidus ends up overboard and sinking into a whirlpool where he wakes up near some Blitzball players at the coast.
Head E first to obtain the Moon Crest, one of the Crests needed to fully upgrade the Celestial (Ultimate) Weapons alongside their respective Sigils.
Nab the Antidotes to the W too and then you'll be surrounded for the skills you demonstrate. Wakka intrroduces himself to Tidus and gives a similar story to Rikku about the world, meaning Tidus realises it must be true, somehow.
Follow him and get pushed in the water, where he joins you - although he must know about the Pirranhas. Grind some more on Pirranhas if you wish whilst looking underwater for the chests. The last one took me a while to find, I don't think they line up visually with the mini-map (unfortunately this is pretty rare). Wakka asks you to join his Blitzball team, and you accept.
You're also shown the "prayer" for Summoners, which turns out lines up with victory for what he knew as a Blitzball player.
In the village make sure to nab all the treasures, including another Al Bhed Primer - in the same building you'll find Luzzu and Gatta who explain the mission of the Crusaders.
Head into the Temple and you'll be told about the missions of the Summoners, do this and treasure hunting before napping at Wakka's, where you'll get a cutscene with Tidus and his mother.
Head into the Temple after this cutscene and you'll find Wakka and learn about the pilgrimage of the Summoner, and how none should enter, however Tidus enters the Cloister of Trials.
This acts more of a tutorial for holding a sphere, inserting it somewhere, interacting with Pillars and Glyphs. Once you've taken the Besaid Sphere and put it in the Pillar, DON'T FULLY MOVE THE PILLAR, instead be sure to replace the Besaid Sphere with the Destruction Sphere to get the Rod of Wisdom, The 3 abilities on it are pretty good for this early.
Push the pillar to the glowing point now and Wakka will join you and Wakka explains his role as Guardian to the Summoner, and you're introduced two others before Yuna emerges, announcing she's become a Summoner.
Outside we watch as she summons Valefor, summons being referred to as Aeons in this game. Tidus will talk to Yuna in the night and Tidus will dream with Yuna and Rikku, and Jecht ruining his dream.
He wakes up and overheas Wakka and Lulu talking about how Tidus looks like Wakka's dead brother Chappu.
We're given Tidus' iconic Brotherhood Sword, and Yuna and Lulu join. Lulu will start as a Black Mage, Yuna will be a combination of Summoner and White Mage. Be sure to nab the upgrade for Valefor in the E house.
We depart on Yuna's pilgrimage as a group and are given a couple of tutorials. The first telling you that Wakka's ball is good against aerial enemies, whilst Tidus is good against evasive/fast enemies. You'll get a second tutorial on enemies weak to Magic and the type matchups, where Lulu fries the enemy with Thunder.
At the promontory you'll pray at the statue, and then be confronted on the next screen by the blue beastman who was waiting for Yuna.
I buff up with Cheer and get him low on HP before defending/healing to fill up the Overdrive Gauge. The only way to get the Overkill here is with the Overdrive, as you won't do enough damage otherwise. You'll get a weapon with the Sensor ability, but Lulu's is probably the most useful, as she's your Black Mage exploiting those elemental weaknesses. it would be a downgrade for Yuna and Tidus right now too.
You'll learn the beastman is a Ronso named Kimahri and he is also one of Yuna's Guardians. I head back to Besaid with some of this new found money and purchase the armour. On the next screen after the one you battled Kimahri you're given a Summoning tutorial, as Yuna uses Valefor to battle a Garuda, try to win with an Overdrive by boosting when nearly full and you should obtain the Bright Bangle equipment.
We'll face another Garuda and Wakka says he can handle it, inflict it with Darkness to reduced its accuracy but summon Valefor anyway. Use Boost repeatedly and use the Overdrive, which probably won't finish it off unless you've done around 400-500HP of damage.
Right at the end we end up at the docks, nab the items and save for our journey in the next part.
