This is a battle against the Boss Ghoul, on NORMAL MODEL, with a team that has completed the game on all difficulties, which is why it will seem easy.
The general strategy is the same of course, it will just take much longer without the proper weapons, materia & limit breaks.
TIPS
- Ghoul is weak against fire, so equip elemental+fire on your weapons.
- I believe it's also weak against poison, but I forgot to cast it in my run through.
- Ghoul mostly uses ranged attacks but can also employ a screech attack that stuns anyone in the range of it.
- It will also rearrange the terrain to make it more difficult to attack him.
- The biggest obstacle is his 2 different "forms" which are "Red" and "Blue."
- When he's Red, he's highly resistant/immune to physical attacks and when he's Blue, the same is true for magic - you can see some of my spells doing no damage to him when he's immune.
- I've heard that you can use Elixer on him to cause 9999 damage, but I've yet to try it.
- He casts silence status ailments, so protect yourself against it & use echo mist
- If he grabs a party member, look for another "clone" of him and hit that one, not the one holding your party member.
- He will also cast purple flames around on the ground to make your navigating the terrain even more cumbersome.
- Use Ray of Judgement when you stagger it, as it significantly boosts his damage percentage and does fantastic damage itself.
