This is a battle against the Boss Abzu, on NORMAL MODEL, with a team that has completed the game on all difficulties, which is why it will seem easy.
The general strategy is the same of course, it will just take much longer without the proper weapons, materia & limit breaks.
TIPS
- Equip elemental+fire on your armour
- Like so many other enemies, he's weak to fire.
- Pick a horn. Unleash your deadliest fire-based spells on it. It will cripple his horn and cause him to hop around while on fire. Take advantage of this time to do some damage and build the pressure gauge.
- Summon Ifrit.
- Most of his attacks are near-range, melee attacks, so take advantage of that. When he jumps up onto the walls, he's either going to use "pounce" which will bind your character. Run in the opposite direction on an angle and dodge to get away from this. If you do get caught in it, immediately swap characters and just pound away at him.
- When he's on the walls, especially above the water, he will cast some back water spell which does damage and causes status ailments. You can see the pipes on the walls in what are essentially the 4 corners of the arena. cling to the wall between the pipes on either side, until he's done and resume your assault.
