This is a battle against the Boss Eligor, on NORMAL MODEL, with a team that has completed the game on all difficulties, which is why it will seem easy.
The general strategy is the same of course, it will just take much longer without the proper weapons, materia & limit breaks.
TIPS
- Equip elemental+Ice on your weapons
- Steal from him! You can get Aerith's Bladed Staff!!
- He's not immune to Poison!
- You can't attack the wheels on the boss, so you will either need to attack it from behind or the front. Ideally get behind him, since he won't be able to attack you from there.
- When the boss starts to gallop around he will eventually start to fly around the arena.
- When he's in the air, use Aerith's ranged attacks to damage the boss.
- Resist the urge to use your Ice magic when he's in the air, as he will cast Reflect and it will return to sender! (you will see me do it in the video)
- You can use dispell to remove it if you've been levelling up your Subversion materia. (more appropriate for additional playthroughs)
- Eventually Reflect will wear off. You can hit him with your best ice spells.
- When he cuts the chain holding the crate above the arena, he's going to start raining down projectiles called Javelin Bolts.
- Use the crate to take cover.
- Eventually his will throw his spear to the ground and land.
- You can now attack the wheels! Do so to cripple them and he will stagger.
- Use your strongest attacks to finish him off.
