So this is a simpler video just talking about how you can use filters sometimes to build up a base texture to add to your over all painting process. This is taken from the standpoint of texturing though, so in the end, you would expect to put this on a lit and detailed object which had been sculpted. This is not the ONLY way of doing things, but it IS a way of adding detail without working 100% with photos which might have copyright (unless you took them yourself) and the problem there is, perhaps the kind of texture you're looking for, you didn't have the ability to capture on your own photos.. or doesn't even exist!.. The answer.. painting, and filters. :P
