Figure of 8 Hitch - The Knot Used When Dipping/Making Candles - Slipped Figure of Eight Hitch

This is a rather nice little hitch to know, especially the slipped version. Even thought this knot is not recommended to be used on critical loads, it is still a rather useful knot to know. According to Ashley's Book of Knots, this particular knot/hitch was used in the making of candles.
