Symptoms of Fault

Brake and clutch fluid leaking from the coupler (under the passenger side wheel arch), loss of pressure under the clutch pedal, clutch pedal floppy/to the floor, squeaking clutch pedal (this can be a side affect of the leaking fluid).

The Fault

It is extremely common for the coupler on the clutch hydraulic pipe to fail

The metal / plastic coupler that connects the two clutch pipes from the reservoir to the slave cylinder often deteriorates and fails. This is a very common fault, the coupler is a very poor design, the loss of hydraulic / brake fluid will lead to a loss of pressure in the clutch system and result in the clutch pedal being floppy or flat to the floor.

Another symptom is a squeaky clutch. The loss of fluid in the slave cylinder can cause the slave to make excess noise.

The Solution

Very simply install our marine grade stainless steel coupler and permanently fix this fault.

Until now the only solutions on the market were simple metal or plastic couplers from plumbing warehouses. These have their own inherent faults for this automotive application. Or replacement of the entire clutch pipe and slave system which would be a time consuming and unnecessary repair.

Our parts are purpose manufactured for this application.

The X8R kit is the most comprehensive kit on the market and consists of a new connector manufactured from 316 marine grade stainless steel, the most durable material on the market for this component. Will not corrode or deteriorate like other parts offered.

The X8R kit also includes a full fitting kit including amalgamating tape to protect the joint and keep out contaminates, anti-leak crush rings (supplied within the connector), 316 marine grade stainless steel pipe inserts to strengthen the inside wall of the existing clutch pipes and a bleeding hose to assist in bleeding the clutch system from any trapped air or excess fluid without mess.

The X8R kit also includes a full fitting kit including amalgamating tape, anti-leak crush rings (supplied within the connector), pipe inserts to strengthen the existing clutch pipes and a bleeder hose to assist in bleeding the clutch system from any trapped air or excess fluid.

The button can be stuck in the On or Off position, unable to be pressed in. When being pressed in, it doesn’t stay in position and springs back out. No resistance within the button. The fault It is common for the heated seat mechanism to bend or break inside the button The heated seat switches on various Fords become inoperable due to the metal lever that guides the button up & down breaking or bending. The small connectors can snap off, the lever itself can bend / misshapen, or the whole lever itself could snap in half. This is due to it being die-cast from thin metal, thus weak by design. When opening / closing roof parcel shelf winglets remain in the air and do not fold out / in. Alternatively winglets may function but slowly or erratically. Please check out our video to see the most common symptoms of this fault. The Fault The plastic gear within the parcel shelf winglet motor wears and strips causing roof faults. It is common for the motor which operates the parcel shelf winglets to fail, within this motor is a plastic gear. The gear is made from a poor quality plastic which wears prematurely; stopping the motor from working and causing defects such as the roof not opening or closing- a result of the parcel shelf winglets sticking, not operating or only moving part way. It is rare for any other components in this motor / actuator to fail. The outer worm gear in this module is made of metal and does not fail however this interacts with the plastic gear causing the plastic gears teeth to wear / strip and fail to function. A new motor can be purchased from the vehicle manufacturer, these typically retail for £350+, these are also fitted with the same plastic gear which will fail again. Our CNC Brass gear allows you to replace just the part that fails at a fraction of the cost and permanently fixes the fault. This product is also ideal to fit as a preventative measure as the plastic gear will wear in future and is likely to malfunction at an inconvenient time. Our Solution Install our precision engineered CNC Brass gear and restore your twin top roof operation. Our Brass gear allows you to replace just the component that fails within the parcel shelf winglet motor without the need to replace the whole motor which would just fail again. Our Brass gear replaces the plastic gear that fails. We have matched the material of our gear to function correctly with the existing gear within the motor to ensure smooth life time use. Replacement motors are extremely expensive and are fitted with the same plastic gear which will just fail again. Install our gear at a fraction of the cost and enjoy using your roof again.
