Final Fantasy XIV launched today on Nintendo Switch 2, and this video jumps straight into one of the biggest tests the game can offer, the 24 player Alliance Raid Syrcus Tower.
Captured on Nintendo Switch 2.
Alliance Raids bring three full parties of eight players together for 24 player encounters, and Syrcus Tower is one of the most iconic, part of the Crystal Tower series set within the towering crystalline structure itself. With 24 players on screen firing off abilities, effects and attacks all at once, it is exactly the kind of chaotic, demanding content that puts real pressure on the hardware, making it a fascinating early look at how the Switch 2 version copes with a full raid.
From what I can see here, the game appears to be running at 60fps even during the busiest moments of the raid, which is genuinely impressive if it holds up, but I will be putting it through a proper frame rate test in a dedicated video rather than calling it confirmed off the back of one run. For now, this is a first look at the Switch 2 version handling one of the game's most player dense encounters on launch day.
Whether you are an FFXIV player picking up the Switch 2 version, curious how it handles large scale content, or simply here for some Syrcus Tower gameplay, this video gives you an early look. Subscribe for the full frame rate test and more FFXIV Switch 2 content.
