Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, and this video covers a full playthrough of Chapter 8, All That Glitters.
Pure gameplay, no commentary, captured on Nintendo Switch 2.
Chapter 8 arrives at one of the most beloved locations in Final Fantasy VII history, the Gold Saucer. After the emotional weight of Chapter 7, the party arrives at the spectacular entertainment complex where Cloud and Barret check into the Ghost Square haunted hotel while Aerith, Tifa and Yuffie explore the attractions. The chapter takes in the full range of Gold Saucer activities across Wonderment Square, Event Square, Speed Square, Battle Square, Chocobo Square and Skywheel Square, alongside a 3D Brawler match against Gold Saucer director Dio and a date sequence at the Skywheel.
The relaxed atmosphere does not last long. Shinra forces close in led by Director Palmer, who drops into battle inside a giant frog shaped mech called the Anuran Suppressor for one of the most memorable and absurd boss fights in the entire game. The chapter closes with the party escaping in the buggy into the Corel Desert, alongside a second Zack interlude set in the Sector 5 slums.
