The Status Max glitch is only possible in the Japanese International Pc verstion sold on the Japanese Square Enix store. Sometimes it's called the e-store version. It allows you to skip some dialogues, but you can also skip a few fights and cancel warping so you can do the wrong warp sequence much faster without dead solo Cloud. The Japanese word for Status max is ステータスMAX.
The Japanese International PC version is only sold to people with a Japanese paying card from a Japanese IP address.
The Status Max glitch is done by opening the menu, closing it, and when the menu is closed and the screen is black you press Shift-F10 to open the Status Max. You can do things with it that are explained in the video. Usually you change field and then cancel the Status max message.
A few more interesting things this version has:
It doesn't crash after year 2038, while the Steam version does. The original pc cd version didn't crash either.
The message that you can't run away can be shown during the pause while it can't in other versions.
Young Cloud doesn't have a name in the flashback.

In the beginning he says there are 6 skips total in the run with the Status max glitch.
at 35:56 playground skip
at 54:58 he says he found the Status max glitch a couple days before.
at 1:00:46 he says he tried opening the menu everywhere he could, until something would happen. It's exactly how he found it, but he also had an idea of what could possibly happen.
at 1:13:18 he skips the Hojo scene on floor 66.
at 1:35:28 XeroKyno' Kalm skip but I can't reproduce it.
at 2:55:25 He fails the skip in Rocket town.
at 2:57:59 He says he could skip Schizo but the setup is too heavy.
at 3:06:26 He explains what is the Status max, that's it's one more menu. When you add something more to a game like a menu, there's a chance that it allows you to do new things.
at 3:09:37 He skips a dialogue before the temple.
at 3:58:28 He skips Jenova Death
at 3:59:00 He says it's hard to know what you can skip or not, you really have to try. He could have skipped Schizo but you'd have to walk a lot.

XeroKynos' Kalm skip, but I can't reproduce it. Once I run after cancelling the Status Max, it triggers the small text and Cloud walks back to Kalm. XeroKynos used version 1.0.7 while the current version is 2.0.0. The game doesn't update automatically, you need to download the installer. Version 2.0.0 may have been already out at this time. I tried hacking to make a save and try it on an older computer on the cd version, but it also didn't seem to work.

Invalid field warp. It'll help you understand better why after warping sometimes Cloud can walk and sometimes he can't.
In the video at one point I talk about a crash in the reactor when try warping to Junon. The crash also happens in the Steam version but you have to use a cheat to be able to reproduce it.
Junon's field ID is 428. It crashes even in the Steam version if you try warping there by forcing the encounter 428 with cheats.
The Emerald weapon's encounter ID is 984, as shown in the video. You can use it to warp to the black reactor.
