Holy hell, that was nuts! Maybe this light trainer jet may not be as classy and eye-catching as some of its bigger fighter jet counterparts but this display by the Italian M346 was still absolutely nuts and worthy of the best flying witnessed at Sanicole's Airshow 2022!! :D
Aeronautica Militare (Italian Air Force) did totally deliver again with this flight display, combining very fast speed, fast paced and aggressive aerobatics with beautiful smoke trails along with condensation wingtip and LERX vortices, plus the conditions were ideal for filming and we had a perfect cloudy sky as background. This is one of my favourite captured videos that I've made as of late, hope you enjoy it just as much! ^^
The Leonardo M-346 Master is a family of military twin-engine transonic advanced jet trainers and light combat aircraft. Originally co-developed with Yakovlev as the Yak/AEM-130, the partnership was dissolved in 2000 and the then Alenia Aermacchi proceeded to separately develop the M-346 Master, while Yakovlev continued work on the Yakovlev Yak-130. The first flight of the M-346 was performed in 2004. The type is currently operated by the air forces of Italy, Israel, Singapore, and Poland. Since 2016 the manufacturer became Leonardo-Finmeccanica as Alenia Aermacchi merged into the new Finmeccanica, finally rebranded as Leonardo in 2017.
The M-346 is designed for the main role of lead-in fighter trainer, in which aircraft's performance and capabilities are used to deliver pilot training for the latest generation of combat fighter aircraft. Powered by a pair of Honeywell F124 turbofan dry engines, designed to reduce acquisition and operating costs, it is capable of transonic flight without using an afterburner; Alenia Aermacchi has claimed that the M-346's flight performance to be "second only to afterburner-equipped aircraft". During the design process, the twin concepts of "design-to-cost" and "design-to-maintain" were adhered to, reducing acquisition and operational costs; the per flying hour costs of the M346 are reportedly one-tenth of those of the Eurofighter Typhoon. Outside of the training role, the M-346 was designed from the onset to accommodate additional operational capabilities, including combat missions such as close air support and air policing duties.
The M-346 incorporates a full-authority quadruplex digital fly-by-wire flight control system which, in combination with the optimized aerodynamic configuration of the aircraft, provides for full manoeuvrability and controllability at very high angle of attack (in excess of 30° degrees). The flight control system, incorporating a HOTAS design philosophy, is equipped with adjustable angle of attack and g-force limitations; when combined with its wide performance envelope, this allows the M-346 to effectively mimic the flight performance of various fighter aircraft operated by trainee pilots or to progressively increase difficulty levels, thus raising the training's effectiveness. A pilot activated recovery system (PARS) is present which, when pressed, conducts an automatic recovery by returning the aircraft to a steady and level flight path.
A digital avionics system, modelled on its counterparts on board the latest generation of military aircraft such as the Saab JAS-39 Gripen, the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor and the Eurofighter Typhoon, is incorporated, making it suitable for all stages of advanced flight training and thus reducing the use of combat aircraft for training purposes, ”downloading” flight hours from Operational Conversion Unit (OCU) to Pilot Training Unit. A modular avionics architecture is employed, allowing for new equipment and systems to be incorporated and increasing the type's growth potential.

Prepare to be awe-struck as the SU-35 showcases its jaw-dropping maneuvers in yet another remastered video from MAKS 2017!! From gravity-defying aerobatics to mind-blowing stunts, witness the sheer power and agility of this formidable fighter jet!
Captured at the prestigious MAKS 2017 airshow, this remastered footage brings you up close to the action, allowing you to experience the adrenaline-pumping thrill of the SU-35 like never before. With its advanced technology and unparalleled performance, the SU-35 proves why its in a league of its own!
Sit back, relax, and immerse yourself in the world of aviation excellence as the SU-35 defies the laws of physics with its breathtaking maneuvers. Dont miss out on this extraordinary display of aerial prowess!
As usual, Юрий Ващук (Yuriy Vaschuk) is at the controls showcasing his unparalleled skill with this fighter aircraft. These videos were shot at MAKS 2017 at Gromov Flight Research Institute in Zhukovskiy, Moscow in 2017, but back then I didnt have the editing means that I do nowadays in terms of software (DaVinci Resolve) and graphics card, so I decided to revisit a number of older videos to improve the color grading and add stabilization and sharpening. Hope you appreciate it!
The Sukhoi Su-35 (Сухой Су-35; NATO reporting name: Flanker-E) is the designation for two separate, heavily-upgraded derivatives of the Su-27 air-defence fighter. They are twin-engine, single-seater, highly-maneuverable fighter aircraft, designed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau and built by the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association.
The first variant was designed during the 1980s as an upgrade of the Su-27, and was initially known as the Su-27M. This derivative made use of canards and had a multi-function radar that transformed the aircraft into a multi-role fighter jet. It was also structurally reinforced to support its heavier weight. The first prototype made its maiden flight in June 1988. The aircraft did not enter mass production at the time due to the collapse of the Soviet Union and therefore Sukhoi re-designated the aircraft later on as Su-35 to attract export orders. At the same time, the fourteen aircraft initially produced were used for tests and exhibitions; one example had thrust-vectoring engines installed, and the resultant Su-37 was used as a technology demonstrator. A sole two-seat trainer was also built in the late 1990s under the designation SU-35UB that strongly resembled the Su-30MK family.
In 2003, Sukhoi embarked on a second modernization of the Su-35 to serve as an interim aircraft awaiting the development of the Sukhoi PAK-FA (Su-57, previously T-50) program. Also known as Su-35, this derivative had a redesigned and highly modernized cockpit as well as an improved weapons-control system, it also featured thrust-vectoring engines (AL-41F1S, formerly AL-117S) in place of the omitted canards. The airbrake was gone and it used aerodynamic rudder brakes. The type made its first flight in February 2008. Although the aircraft was designed for export, the Russian Air Force in 2009 became the launch customer of the aircraft, the production version of which is the currently designated Su-35S. Chinas Peoples Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) is the sole foreign customer of the aircraft so far but other countries are reportedly in discussions with Russia about the possible purchase of the Su-35, among which is Indonesia, whose government is expected to sign a contract in the near future.
