Yes, data centers use enormous amounts of water and electricity. But let's be honest: they didn't deplete the Ogallala Aquifer. Agriculture has been drawing from that resource for decades, and pretending otherwise doesn't help our cause.

The bigger issue is what happens when water becomes scarce and farmers find themselves competing with Big Tech. If it comes down to irrigation versus data storage, agriculture may discover that consumers aren't on our side. After all, Americans spend hours every day on their screens, and all that digital activity depends on data centers.
