Recorded during Sundance 2026, this opening night conversation launches Food Tank and Niman Ranch’s signature live storytelling series, Voices of Farmers: Growing the Future.
The evening opens with welcome remarks from Danielle Nierenberg, President of Food Tank, and brings together farmers, chefs, artists, and filmmakers for an intimate night of stories, food, and connection.
Featured farmer storyteller Elle Gadient is a fifth-generation Iowa cattle farmer whose family farm supplies Niman Ranch, raising animals under the cooperative’s high standards for animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and independent family farming.
The conversation is hosted by actor, creator, and author David Moscow, who shares clips from his television series From Scratch and joins the farmers in a wide-ranging discussion about land, care, culture, and what it means to try to do right by the food we grow and eat.
The full evening also features immersive tastings curated by celebrity chefs, live music, and stories from farmers across the United States, Australia, and beyond, including Lynsey Gammon of Gracie’s Farm at The Lodge at Blue Sky, Hannah Greenshields of Australia’s NSW Central Coast, Paula Swaner Sargetakis of Frog Bench Farms in Salt Lake City, David Chen of Zoe’s Garden, AJ Kanip of Ute Tribal Enterprises and Ute Bison Meat Company, and Albert Betoudji of the New Roots program.
A special culinary experience accompanies the storytelling, led by Chef Bleu Adams, Diné restaurateur and food sovereignty advocate, and Chef Johanna Hellrigl, Executive Chef of Ama in Washington, D.C., highlighting food as both nourishment and narrative.
Voices of Farmers debuted with a sold-out run at Climate Week NYC at WNYC–NPR Studios in collaboration with the Broadway Green Alliance and is now touring globally, with upcoming stops in Dublin, Adelaide, Austin, and Boston.
This event took place at The Lodge at Blue Sky in Park City, Utah and concluded with a reception supported by the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation.
