In this video I show how I have upcycled vintage doilies and a pair of linen pants into a fabulous new pair of pants with simple slow stitching.

I was inspired by lMary Walker Textile Artist who I had the joy of meeting at the Fleur Woods retreat this year at Green Door Studios. Mary brought along a fabulous dress made with vintage doilies which provided wonderful inspiration for this project. The rainbow painted doily I used on the pants was painted by me at the Fleur Woods retreat so it’s wonderful to have some Fleur Woods joy in this piece. I’ve also shared videos where I have shown how you can use Derwent Inktense blocks to colour doilies and laces:
